Things to Try Thursday-Onesie Dress, Headband, and Burp cloth

Well, I have TWO baby showers that I am helping to host.  One is this weekend and the other is next weekend.  I started working on my shower gifts on Monday when my sewing machine started giving me FITS!!!!  I was so ready to take a shot gun to it and just be done with it.  Ever since I got my machine I had issues with the underneath thread will get jammed and I will have a ZILLION threads that get loose and all caught up together.  On Tuesday I stopped by my and asked my hubby's grandmother and aunt what they thought the problem was.  I got a resolution...who knew you needed the presser foot to be down while threading the needle...well now ya do!!

Any way once I got my machine up and running I whipped these babies (figuratively, of course) out in no time.  I made two...hence I am going to two baby showers.

I found this great tutorial a while back over at Running with Scissors...(love all the home make-over posts she has been doing lately)  I saw it again over at Blue Cricket Design.  I filed it away b/c I knew it would be the perfect baby gift!!

Here is my finished project!! (sorry for the pics...blogger didn't upload them in the correct direction)

I love the pink and brown....and the paisley print just makes it that much better!!

I love the paisley wing!!  I also made my headband smaller, this is for a 0-3 month old.

I figure every girl needs to match and you can't start too early...so a matching burp cloth was in order!
Head over to Running with Scissors and make a cute dress for that sweet baby in your life!!!

Happy Sewing!!
